Mangaluru: There are many instances which show that actors and actresses from Karavali who have gained much stardom in Bollywood do not forget their hometown. The latest addition to this is Deepika Padukone.

Deepika Padukone and actor Ranveer Singh’s wedding took place at Italy’s Lake Como resort on November 14th. Even here, Karavali culture played a dominant role. The specialty is that the wedding was conducted in the traditional Konkani style. Even during the engagement, Deepika’s father Prakash Padukone welcomed his future son-in-law in the traditional style by washing the latter’s feet and giving him a coconut. Deepika’s family’s of following the method of Karavali culture and tradition and has made pleased her fans.

Catering from Mangaluru

The opportunity of serving the traditional “hometown” food at the Deepika’s wedding was given to the catering team of Ganesh Nayak from Car Street Mangaluru. Ganesh Nayak is currently conducting Sona catering business at Malleshwaram in Bengaluru. He along with his wife Saroja Nayak and son Arjun went with the team. Deepika and Ganesh are family friends. Gansesh Nayak’s son spoke with “Udayavani” and said that he had the information that the food that was served was prepared in the traditional Konkani style. His father will return back to India from Italy on Monday and further information will be arrival only after his arrival, he said.

Marriage performed by a priest from Honnavar

Deepika and her father Prakash Padukone are originally from Padukone in Udupi district. The marriage of Deepika-Ranveer Singh was performed by Gurudas Bhat from Honnavar. The beautiful images of the wedding were captured by photographer Claude Loren who is from Mangaluru. He has expressed his pleasure by stating on social sites that capturing photos of the fantastic wedding was an unforgettable memory for him.

Deepika couple will return back to India on November 18th. A grand wedding reception has been organized at Leela Palace in Bengaluru on November 21st. Deepika’s near and dear ones will be part of the programme. There is special entertainment programmed organized in which, a renowned sitarist from Mangaluru will be performing.

Conditions for participants

An agreement has already been done with the photographer and those conducting the entertainment programme for the HiFi wedding and reception programme. According to the agreement, no information will be given to the public until the programme has concluded. Use of mobile has been banned. No photograph can be shared on social sites, inform sources.
