Belthangady: International Working President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Alok Kumar said that the governments should relinquish their hold on Hindu temples and the endowments must be used for the betterment of Hindu society.

Addressing the media in Dharmasthala, the VHP leader said that Hindu Temple should be free in the same way that the affairs of the mosques, churches, and gurudwaras are under the government’s control. “We demand the central government to create a central law. The VHP will soon launch a nationwide campaign for it,” he said.

Commenting on the killing of the minorities in Kashmir he said, it was assumed that normalcy had returned to the valley after the abrogation of Article 370. But, the three attacks in the last 20 days killing 11 civilians is a cause for concern. The attacks have terrorized the Muslims who are supportive of the Hindus, Sikhs, migrants, and the government.  “These acts of terrorism can never and undermine India’s will. We are going to stay together and maintain the integrity of Kashmir,” he said.

Expressing concern over Hindus in Bangladesh, he said that according to the Constitution, Islam is the religion which gives equal protection to Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Jain and Christian. But the Bangladesh government has failed to deal with it. He said the central government had put diplomatic pressure on Pakistan and Bangladesh and urged the government to take care of minorities.

Touching on the topic of religious conversion, Alok Kumar said that the VHP will organize a large-scale campaign to bring those who have converted to other religions back to their roots.

He also praised the selfless work of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade in the areas of women empowerment, agrarian planning, educational revolution, and the benefit of Hindu society.
