Udupi: Muzrai Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary stated on May 31 that temples in the State will be opened from June 8 for devotees.
All temples in the State were closed for devotees from the beginning of the first nation-wide lockdown in March.
The temples were to be opened on June 1, however, the new guidelines issued by the central government on May 30 postponed the date to June 8.
Poojary has requested all devotees to cooperate in this regard.
He added that State-specific guidelines for temples and devotees will be issued soon. Officials have already been instructed to draft these guidelines.
