10 years since Mangaluru aircrash: Family remembers the call half an hour before

Chikkamagalur: A man was killed in the aeroplane crash near Bajpe in Mangaluru. The deceased, M A Abdul Rehman, 48, is the son of S K Khader, a contractor and resident of Vijayapura layout.
The deceased is survived by his wife and children Tashira (12), Tallik (7).
For the past 8 years, Rehman was working as a supervisor at an MNC. He had called home last night before boarding the flight and half an hour before the plane touched down. He had asked to bring the children to the airport.
As the news of his death reached home, his elderly father cried uncontrollably holding a portrait of his son. The mother and sister collapsed on learning the news.
Hundreds gathered in front of their house to condole the relatives. The father became ill and was taken to a local hospital.
The children reside in Balehoonur for two years due to strife in the family. Rehman was supposedly coming to solve the family’s problem.
Rehman’s corpse was completely burned and could not be found until evening.
