Mysuru: Senior Kannada author Dr. S L Bhyrappa criticized the objections raised to the textbook revision in Karnataka by some political parties and left-leaning academicians.

Bhyrappa told Udayavani on Thursday that he isn’t in the know of the omissions from the SSLC  curriculum in the state.

But, he said, some people always find something to criticize without looking at the merit of the situation. They love disputes. “Tell me what other work do they have?” he asked.

Meanwhile, member of parliament and BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the textbook revision was a routine exercise. “Textbooks have been revised from time to time. The committees are formed for the same. Discussions and criticisms during the revision process are quite natural,” he said, and added that history should be accurately represented in textbooks.
