Thai woman held at Delhi airport for smuggling cocaine worth Rs 43 crore: Customs

A Thai woman was arrested at the international airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine worth Rs 43 crore by concealing the drug inside crockery sets, according to customs officials on Saturday.

The 33-year-old suspect was intercepted after arriving from Bangkok on July 23.

Customs officers discovered 3.12 kilogrammes of cocaine hidden in three crockery sets within her trolley bag during a physical inspection and personal search. The international market value of the seized narcotic is estimated at Rs 43.13 crore.

The passenger has been arrested, and the narcotic confiscated.
