“The FHVI Royal Classic Car Drive to Mysore” vintage car rally kicked off

Mysuru: This year’s Dasara celebrations have turned more unique with a vintage car rally being organized between Bengaluru – Mysuru on September 30th and October 1st.
“The FHVI Royal Classic Car Drive to Mysore” witnessed the participation of 50 vintage cars. Proud vintage car owners from across the state as well as the country have come to participate in this unique rally. Interestingly, there are also participants from foreign countries including England, France and Sri Lanka. Altogether there are 16 participants from Bengaluru, 22 from across the country and 12 participants from foreign countries.
Royal participants
The vintage car rally saw the participation of royalty from North India. The royals include Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Harshwardhan Shingh of Dungarpur, Pradyumen Singh of Lucknow and Jithendra Deshprabhu of Goa who took part in the rally.
The cars were stationed in front of the illuminated Mysuru palace for public viewing. Today, the cars will be driven to Chamundi Hills.
CM HD Kumaraswamy flagged off the first leg of the rally at Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru on September 30th. The rally concluded in the afternoon at the Lalitha Mahal Palace in Mysuru.
The second leg of the rally took place today and the participants drove to the Chamundi Hills at around 7 am following which, around 12 cars will accompany the Dasara elephants for the rehearsal till the Bannimantap Grounds. Later the participants will move to KRS and return to Lalitha Mahal Palace for dinner.
Vintage cars from world famous car manufactures were part of the rally such as the Mercedes, MG Motors, Jaguar, Ford, Wolseley, Buick, Chevrolet, Morris, Austin, Alfa Romeo, Triumph, Sunbeam and Lincoln.
