Udupi: The Lord Vittal Idol is the presiding deity of Shiroor Math, I am prepared to to file a case against the concerned if necessity arises, said Shiroor Mutt seer, Sri Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji.

Addressing the media, Swamiji said that “The idol was kept at the Krishna Mutt for safety reasons. We had kept the idol there and its the responsibility of returning such valuables when their true owners come back. If it is not, it is considered as theft.

They have taken away the idol of my deity by force. I have immense faith in Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Mukhyaprana, who I am sure, will make sure that the idol rightfully belonging to my Mutt would be returned to me. The treat these deities as my parents,” he said.
