BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra has responded to the criticism leveled against him by MP Dr. K. Sudhakar regarding the selection of district office-bearers in Chikkaballapur. Speaking in Mysuru, Vijayendra stated, “The party is my priority, and I am willing to endure all criticisms.”

Vijayendra clarified that Sudhakar had not contacted him directly. “Sudhakar messaged me four days ago wanting to meet, but I had to travel to Delhi urgently, making it impossible to meet. He did not call me. I am unsure in what context Sudhakar made these remarks,” he said.

Emphasizing his commitment to the party, Vijayendra added, “I take all criticisms in stride. No matter what anyone says, I accept it calmly. I am here to learn from everyone’s experiences. The party is my only focus. I have learned life lessons from Yediyurappa, and as state president, I am not here to fight with anyone but to strengthen the party. I don’t know why Sudhakar is using such combative language. I am open to speaking with him.”

Regarding the appointment of the Chikkaballapur district president, Vijayendra clarified that he had no role in the process. “The selection is handled by the party’s high command. The overseeing committee sent the names to the high command, and they made the decision. At no stage was I involved. Sudhakar’s remarks seem to stem from a lack of experience and information. I am not saying that I am being targeted because I am Yediyurappa’s son. However, I take pride in being his son. I have learned from all the criticisms directed at me,” he said.

When asked about the change in BJP state leadership, Vijayendra noted that internal elections are underway at all levels. “The process for electing the state president is ongoing. We will see what happens,” he said.

Vijayendra also criticized Congress leaders for their remarks on the Kumbh Mela. “Congress leaders are mocking the Kumbh Mela, which is being held after 144 years. Their intention is to hurt Hindu sentiments. The recent stampede incident should not have happened, and I extend my condolences to the affected family,” he said.

Vijayendra strongly condemned Congress leader Santosh Lad’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Who does Santosh Lad think he is to criticize the Prime Minister? He seems to think he can say whatever he wants. Such street-side comments do not diminish the dignity of the Prime Minister,” he asserted.
