- Tipper Lorries violating traffic rules
Kundapur: Let alone the missing break lights, the number plate too is absent. Yet, the tipper lorries transporting massive boulders along the national/state highway function without a worry.
Not just the missing number plates and brake lights, the regional transport authority has given many guidelines to be followed by good vehicles while transporting boulders, bricks, gravel and sand. But none of it is being followed by the vehicle drivers. In the recent days, there is a rise in instances of the tipper lorries blatantly violate traffic rules by transporting boulders, gravel and bricks. These vehicles loaded with their goods are plying carefree along the Kundapur-Byndoor national highway and Kundapur-Siddapura and Koteshwar-Halady state highway. Meanwhile, other motorists including cars, bikes and rickshaws which follow behind the lorries travel with a definite risk for their lives.
Put an end to this
“It is a challenge to travel behind a tipper transporting stones. One cannot assume when they will apply brakes. Also, the small particles blow into the wind and cause much trouble to the eyes of the motorcycle rides following it. It is vital that the relevant officials put an end to this,” said a motorcycle rider from Bikalkatte.
