Theft at residence in Puttur: Valuables worth Rs 5.33 lac stolen

Unidentified miscreants decamped with valuables worth over Rs five lakh at Arantabailu of Golithottu village when the house inmates were away.
The incident took place at the residence of Ramla (62) in the intervening night of September 1 and 2 when he had gone to Mangaluru International Airport to receive his son who was returning from abroad.
When Ramla returned home at around 1.45 am on September 2, he found that the door of his house was broken and things were strewn across the house. Upon checking it was found that a 64-gm gold chain, 40-gm gold bangle, two gold rings and Rs 8,000 cash were missing from the cupboard.
A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station in this regard.
