Thieves rob gold, cash and attack couple at Karkala

Karkala: Thieves broke into a house by breaking the rear door of the house at Banglegudde here on Saturday night.
The gang attacked the couple living in the house. 1 lakh cash and 21 sovereigns of gold was stolen from the house.
The house belongs to Sanjeev Naik, retired employee of Vijaya Bank and Yashoda, BSNL employee.
The couple who suffered injuries has been admitted to a private hospital here for treatment.
Assistant superintendent of police, Rishikesh Sonawane, police circle inspector, Joy Antony, town station sub-inspector, Nanja Naik, and finger print experts visited the house and collected evidences. Sniffer dog summoned for probe went for a hundred metres on the path taken by the robbers before losing scent.
A case stands registered in the town police station and investigation has been undertaken.
