Thieves target Mescom office; steal Rs 4.5 lakh

Padubidri: Thieves gained access to the Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd (MESCOM) office here on Tuesday night, May 14th.
The office in question is located in Sri Mahadevi building. The thieves gained access into the office through the back door and made off with Rs 4.5 lakh.
On Tuesday, more number of electricity bills paid in comparison to other days and therefore the theft might have been committed bearing this mind, suspect the police.
Fingerprint experts and dog squads have already been pressed into service and investigation is being conducted.
