NFTs have become a worldwide hot topic because millions of individuals are involved in them in some way.
People have generated large sums of money by selling digital art, old videos, and created memes that were not intended to be sold.
The market for NFT (nonfungible tokens) digital art or memes is at an all-time high. During the COVID-19 outbreak, NFT sales skyrocketed. It became well-known as digital fans and investors rushed to spend large quantities of money on products that are only available digitally.
This year, collectible digital assets such as GIFs, songs, and movies were sold at exorbitant prices. Digital artworks, on the other hand, saw the most sales.
However, the world of NFTs may be a strange place at times, as some very unusual creations have been sold in the last year.
According to sources, a 21-year-old art student has listed a rather strange item for prospective purchasers on NFT marketplace OpenSea, adding to the record of bizarre listings and purchases.
Stijn van Schaik, a student at the Hague art academy, is reportedly ‘selling his soul’ as an NFT. Although it is not possible to digitize your soul, the artist’s odd listing has gone viral.
Schaik, who is from the Netherlands, posted an item on OpenSea called “Soil of Stinus.” It’s said to be ready to be placed onto the blockchain before being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Schaik wrote, “Hello person, you are currently looking at a soul. For now, it is mine. Once it is fully uploaded on the blockchain, who knows what will happen. What does it mean for a soul to be decentralized? Let us find out,”
The 21-year-old also developed a website with a contract outlining the soul’s permissible uses.
He wrote, “Example uses of the Soul which would be permitted under these terms include (but are not limited to): …Sacrificing or offering said Soul, in whole or in part, to any deity or spiritual entity,”
However, there is a “sale of soul agreement” that lays out the terms of the transaction.
According to a report, the highest bid on the soul NFT was 0.11 ETH ($378).
