Restaurants in India are mostly going viral for massive thalis, food challenges, themes, and fusion dishes that aren’t necessarily appealing. Discounts and special deals, on the other hand, are still the most popular technique to attract attention from locals and social media users.

It’s a tried-and-true marketing strategy that all types of eateries rely on. However, many businesses have come up with innovative and inventive ways to give discounts to their clients.

A restaurant in Hyderabad, Telangana, has offered “courtesy discounts” and has received praise online. Anyone can enjoy discounts of up to Rs 35 by saying “please,” “thank you,” and “have a great day” to the restaurant staff at Dakshin-5 in the Khajaguda section of the city.

D. Ramchandram, a Hyderabad-based Public Relations Consultant, published a video outlining the offer on Twitter.

A thali (a set dinner) at Dakshin-5 costs Rs 165 in total. However, if a consumer purchases it with the words “a Thali please,” the initial price is reduced by Rs 15. If a diner says to a waiter, “good afternoon, a thali please,” it drops by another Rs 15.

“Common courtesies have become very uncommon. But Dakshin-5 wants to make a difference. Just walk into this restaurant, pleasingly, say please, thank you, have a good day, place your order, and get discounts,” said D. Ramachandran.
The managing partners of Dakshin-5, A K Solanky and Sanjeev Kumar Blake, stated in a news release that the discounts rise with more courtesies.
“This will not only encourage customers to be more polite, but it is putting a smile on their faces too,” said Solanky.
“This is an initiative that I have seen in the west. It breaks unpleasantness and will help forge food relationships and cultivate a win-win culture,” added Blake.
Even if they are not at fault, restaurant employees are frequently treated poorly, according to Blake. “The common courtesy has become very uncommon, and we are trying to bring back that culture,” he said.
The recently launched restaurant provides popular cuisine from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
