Thokkattu: Newlywed couple dies in tragic accident

Ullal: A tragic incident where a newly married couple died after their two-wheeler and a truck collided near the Thokkattu overbridge was reported on the evening of Tuesday, October 27.

The deceased have been identified as Bajal resident Ryan Fernandes (30) and Priya Fernandes (32).

The collision occurred when the couple, working at Father Muller’s Hospital in Kankanady, were returning to their rented accommodation at Ullal’s Bangere Lane from work.

The two-wheeler they were on was hit by a truck coming down from the overbridge while they turned towards Ullal. Both of them were thrown into the air due to the impact of the collision and fell many metres away from their vehicle.

While Priya died on the spot, Ryan died on the way to the hospital.

South Zone traffic police arrived at the spot and cleared the traffic that was disrupted for about two hours after the incident.
