Thokottu: Customer seeks drinking water from woman shopkeeper, absconds with her purse

Mangaluru: A woman shopkeeper at T C Road in Thokottu was robbed of Rs 35,000 cash by a customer here on Wednesday, May 12 morning.

In her complaint, the victim Anusooya said that a man had arrived at her shop to buy cigarettes. As he was about to light the cigarette, Anusooya asked him not to smoke near the shop. Later the man sought water to quench his thirst.

When Anusooya proceeded to get the water, the man barged into the shop, stole her purse containing Rs 35,000 in cash and fled the spot on his bike.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
