Thokottu: The makeshift beef stalls installed at the market here were set on fire at late in the night on January 8.
As the market is undergoing renovation, temporary stalls were arranged nearby for the traders in the market.
Many organizations in the past few weeks had given a written appeal to the Ullal municipal council to close these beef stalls.
Ullal police officials have visited the site and have started an investigation.
