Mangaluru: Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that those who follow the idea of Hindutva are not Indians but communalist.

Speaking at a function held at the town hall here, he showered a barrage of attacks on the Sangh Parivar.

“Savarkar did not accept the Indian Tricolour, since the past 52 years the national flag has not been hoisted at the RSS’s office in Nagpur. The organisation also does not accept the Constitution. The Parivar is also against reservation, hence the BJP is trying to end it,” he said.

“PFI and SDPI are backers of the BJP. They benefitted the party in the Bihar elections,” he accused.

“Muslims have a fair share in the wealth of this country. When I was in power, I gave the minorities Rs 3,500 crores as grants. If I come to power again I will give more than Rs 10,000 crores as grants. The BJP, however, is reducing all the grants and schemes that were for them,” he added.

“The anti-cow slaughter law was introduced to target a particular religion. Nobody has the right to tell others what to eat. I will eat beef if I want to, the BJP has no authority to question me. 90% of beef exporters are BJP members,” he said.
