Mangaluru: A BJP youth leader Mohammad Asgar lodged a complaint at Konaje Police Station against an unidentified person for issuing a life threat.
In his complaint, Asgar alleged that he received a call from an overseas number threatening to kill him, followed by a similar voice message on WhatsApp in the backdrop of his remarks supporting the National Registry of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
Earlier Asgar in a social media post had remarked that CAA and NRC do not pose any threat or danger to the Muslim community and they need not be bothered about it.
Meanwhile, Asgar has requested for security cover for him and his family and sought immediate arrest of the caller.
Konaje police registered a case.
