Kochi: A fire broke out on a ship under repair at the Cochin Shipyard Limited premises, killing three people, a CSL spokesperson said.
Eleven people trapped inside the ship were evacuated and rushed to various hospitals in the city, the spokesperson said.
Efforts are on to evacuate two more trapped in the ship. “Initial feedback is that there are three casualties… Two more are trapped inside,” said a spokesperson.
The others are okay, he said.
