Three killed after SUV jumps median, rams into cab on B’luru Airport road

Bengaluru: Three persons were killed and two others sustained injuries following a head-on collision between an SUV and a cab on Airport Road near Bettahalasuru on Thursday night.
The occupants of the cab, including its driver, were killed on the spot owing to the impact of the collision. The deceased were identified as Poornima Ravindra (57) and her daughter Lakshmi Ravindra (38).
Two others in the SUV car sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The accident took place at around 9.30 pm on Thursday. According to the police, the driver of the SUV car lost control over the vehicle and jumped the media before ramming into a cab coming from the other direction.
The SUV was proceeding towards Yelahanka while the cab was headed to the airport. Traffic on the route was thrown out of gear due to the mishap.
A case of negligent driving has been registered against SUV driver and further investigations are on.
