Three nabbed for stealing cattle

Mangaluru: The Konaje police arrested three persons for allegedly being involved in a cattle theft case.
The arrested have been identified as Kalandar Shafi (28), resident of Gantalakatte, Moodabidri, Mohammed Sadik (30) Dabbeli Lachil Mane, Mangaluru and Mohammed Kalandar (23) resident of Naringana Village, Bantwal.
A team led ACP Kodandaram of south sub-division carried out an operation after learning that the accused in the cow theft case were roaming in a Maruti Omni van at Eliyar Padavu of Amblamogaru village and arrested the accused. The police also recovered a Maruti van along with stolen cattle worth Rs. 1.4 Lakh during the raid.
This operation was carried out under the direction of city police commissioner Dr P S Harsha and was guided by Arunamshu Giri, DCP, law and order and Laxmi Ganesh, DCP, crime and traffic.
Konaje police inspector Ravi Naik, ASI Yogishwaran, probationary PSI Sharanappa Bhandary, probation PSI Shivakumar, head constable Jagannath, PCs Ashok Kumar, Nagaraj, Vijay Kumar, Chandrakant, Raju Harnal, Manjunath and personnel of the anti-rowdy squad of south sub-division were also part of the team.
