Tiger at NY Zoo tests positive for COVID-19

New York: A spokesperson of Bronx Zoo in New York City on Sunday, April 5 confirmed that a tiger at the zoo tested positive for COVID-19.
“The 4-year-old female Malayan tiger Nadia that is tested positive developed a dry cough and expected to recover,” the Wild Conservation Society that manages the zoo said.
“We tested the cat out of a caution and will ensure to share any knowledge we gain to the world about COVID-19” it added.
“This case marked first positive COVID-19 for a tiger or animal in the United States,” United States spokesperson Stephen Sautner said.
