TikTok becomes the most downloaded social media app during lockdown

India is currently under a lockdown and people are more active on social media apps. Now according to a recent report,  TikTok app was the most downloaded ones in the social media category, followed by WhatsApp and Facebook during the 21 days.

The mobile and data analytics company reported that overall social media app downloads have increased by 20% compared to January 2020, reaching a total of 49 million on both iOS and Google Play platforms.

It is said that apart from that, Helo was also among the highly-downloaded apps. Helo is another short video app that is owned by ByteDance, the same software firm that owns TikTok.

It is also said that during the lockdown usage and engagement rates of TikTok and Instagram’s live videos have gone up significantly with more content and views being generated by users.
