Entire nation is under a lockdown and nobody is allowed to leave their houses but healthcare workers, police, delivery services staff and so on have to step out, which means the vehicles they travel in can trap germs, including viruses. It is also said that car can trap more germs than two wheelers due to the enclosed space.
Here are ways to sanitize your car
Wash the exterior of the car
This is the first step towards deep cleaning your car. You will inadvertently touch the exterior of your car, which means you are transferring bacteria onto it. However, it is not as important as cleaning the interior during a viral pandemic.
Vacuum the inside of your car
Check for places that you cannot always see such as under your seat, in pockets and cup holders. Vacuum the interior of your car and pay attention to little cracks and crevices as dust and bacteria can collect in these places.
Clean high touch surfaces
Thoroughly clean the surfaces you touch frequently, such as the steering wheel, screen, buttons. Make sure you clean these by using ammonia-based car interior cleaner.
Clean HVAC unit
The HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) unit circulates air inside the cabin, and it can carry germs. Spray the AC vent with disinfectant and makes sure to remove and clean cabin filter.
