WhatsApp frauds in India have been increasing day by day and fraudsters are coming up with unique tricks to steal money from people’s accounts.

One of the methods fraudsters use to cheat people is downloading display photos in WhatsApp numbers and then deceive individuals into believing they have new numbers and so forcing them to pay money. Many cybercriminals work at night because they believe that individuals do not call each other at night.

The thieves, on the other hand, become friends with the other users on WhatsApp and provide a phone number to start a new account. They call you and ask for your OTP, which they use to capture all of your information. They also use phones that do not have a security-activated PIN in WhatsApp.

Experts say that cyber thieves usually disguise their numbers to look like those of NRIs and defraud people by utilising virtual numbers. It is recommended that WhatsApp users utilize the security PIN and make sure their DP is only viewable to those who are close to them.

According to experts, employing a security pin is a good way to protect oneself from fraud. It is also claimed that cyber thieves can take control of mobile phones using remote desk tops, remote screen savers, and other methods. They can access texts via apps like SMS forward. The chance of our DP and other information being released increases when you store contacts of unknown persons.
