Today, Mulki Bandh opposing Hejmady Toll

Mulki: Condemning the collection of toll from vehicles belonging Mulki at Hejmady toll gate, Mulki Bandh will be observed under the leadership of Mulki Abhiveaddhi Nagarika Samithi on February 5th and a massive rally will be taken out from Mulki bus stop to Hejmady toll plaza.
Mulki car and tempo drivers and owners association, Mulki and Karnad auto rickshaw driver and owners association has given their complete support for the bandh and will be participating in the bandh, informed the association’s president in a release.
Various political parties and associations have expressed their objection to the toll collection and have come in support for the bandh
Support from Haleangadi
The people of Haleangadi have expressed their support for the Mulki bandh. M Dugganna Sawant belonging to the lineage of past rulers of Mulki region, Gautham Jain of the Padupanambur Mulki palace, KPCC member H Vasant Bernard, ZP member Vinod Kumar Bolluru, TP member Jeeva Prakash Kamerottu, Haleangadi GP president Jalaja Panar and others have expressed their support for the bandh and will be participating in the rally and the protest meet.
Action against forceful band
“The protesters have been sent notice informing them that no permission will be given to conduct a bandh in accordance to the order of the Supreme Court. The public must protest peacefully and place forth their demands and any store being closed by the owner voluntarily in support to the protest is their personal decision. But, in case of attempts to forcefully close shoe or cause any damage to public property, legal action will be taken by the department,” said Anant Padmanabha, Mulki police inspector
