Top 5 parenting websites for dads

Fatherhood or paternity is the least spoken and researched topic in academia and general discourse.

A dearth of information on the proper responses and actions to take when their small piece of paradise does something unexpected while playing about in their laps leaves most new fathers in a spin.

The problems could worsen as years pass and fathers remain clueless about appropriate actual ways of paternal bonding exacerbated by their hours spent away at work and the stress caused by their jobs.

This ultimately leads to a father’s alienation from his children ending sometimes in broken families.

Following websites address to attempt this problem, although as mentioned earlier, the paucity of proper scientifically verified and sanctioned data only makes them advisory websites at best.

1. National Fatherhood Initiative
One of the biggest organisation in the cause to end the absence of fathers from children’s lives, the Initiative’s website has a plethora of resources and training programs on what it means to be a father.

2. All Pro Dad
This website features the easiest to read and understand short articles and listicles on the most basic things and issues concerning fathers and their children.

3. National Center for Fathering
Similar in cause to National Fatherhood Initiative in its aim to reduce and completely eradicate fatherlessness, this website features some unknown statistics and studies about fatherhood and an extensive research and training programs for dads.

4. Fatherly.com
This website has the look and feel of an online version of a print magazine and covers most popular and currently trending issues seen from a father’s perspective.

5. Nerdy Dads
This website stands out amongst all the five, as it, stated on its website, is for “dads who proudly proclaim their nerdy-ness.” There are articles on dads and new technologies and the interconnectedness of the two.

PS – Most of these websites are European and American-centric due to an unfortunate lack of India-specific web resources for fathers.
