Total of 850 candidates for Congress ticket applications in State

Bengaluru: Since the beginning of issue of applications the Congress has issued a total of 850 tickets to candidates at KPCC headquarters.
The applications will be issued to the candidates till March 5 and the last date for the submission of the applications is March 10.
The ruling Congress has issued applications to 850 ticket aspirant since Monday, when the issue of applications began.
As per the sources, general category applicants have been issued applications after the ones from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. In the 2013 polls, around 2,000 ticket applications were issued and among them, 1,800 were submitted to the party. There’s an arrangement to issue applications to as many as 10,000 individuals under the General classification and 5,000 each for SC/STs and ladies.
The procedure of issuing ticket applications kick began with Congress president Rahul Gandhi naming 43-part state election committees, headed by KPCC president G Parameshwara. The board likewise incorporates Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, former governor Margaret Alva alongside a blend of senior and youth party leaders.
After the applications are submitted they will be screened and sent to central selection Committee. The candidates will be finalised after screening the applications.
