Chikkamagaluru: In a tragic incident on Sunday, November 3, a tourist drowned while swimming at the Hebbe Falls in Chikkamagaluru district’s Tarikere taluk.
The tourist, identified as 30-year-old Amit Kumar from Chhattisgarh, had come to visit the falls with his friends during the extended Diwali holiday.
Amit, originally from Chhattisgarh but residing in Bengaluru, had joined his friends for an outing to Hebbe Falls near Kemmanagundi. While attempting to swim near the falls, he was swept away by the strong currents.
Local authorities, including Lingadahalli Police, have registered a case regarding the incident.
