Tractor parked on runway, flight delayed at MIA

Mangaluru: Jet Airways flight which was bound to take off from Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) was requested to abort as the Air Traffic Control (ATC) spotted a tractor parked at the runway.

It has been reported that, Jet airways which was supposed to take off from Mangaluru to Mumbai  at 11:30 am today was asked to abort as an unmanned tractor was parked at the end of the runway.

However, speaking to a news website, Airport Director V V Rao said that some of the media channels have misinterpreted it and said “The tractor was not parked on the runway but was parked at the far end. The flight was cleared for takeoff within three minutes,”
