TRAFFIC ISSUE: Police commissioner inspects the city

Mangaluru: Since the last one week, many works are taking place to improve the traffic movement in the city. Police commissioner Vipul Kumar toured the prominent roads in the city to inspect the work on Thursday.

 As he was inspecting the current work progression he also discussed future works that need to be taken with traffic police officials.

Primarily, importance of the work is given to the installation of cones near bus bays and places giving rise to traffic problems and painting of zebra crossing for easy crossing for the pedestrian. To ease the movement of the traffic, cones have been installed at various location in the city including P.V.S. junction, Bunts hostel road, Pandeshwar railway gate, U.P.Mallya road bus bay, Kankanady by-pass road, Sharavu temple road, Kodial Guttu, Gokarnatha College. Urwa market, City Centre, Srinivas hotel, Tagore park at light house hill road, St.Aloysius College, Hampankatta and other places. Action has been taken against haphazardly parked vehicles along road sides.

First phone-in of police commissioner Vipul

On May 18th, the new police commissioner attended his first phone in programme where he himself received calls from the citizens and gave answers to a few problems on the spot by discussing it with the police officials present at the meeting.

Of the assurances that he had given then, work on few of the promises has already begun and are in progress.
