Manipal: Two persons sustained injuries after a huge tree, which got uprooted, fell on them inside KMC hospital premises in Manipal on Friday, June 21. Four cars were also damaged in the incident.
The incident occurred in the afternoon outside the KMC Manipal Trauma Centre. It is learnt that the victims were coming out of the trauma centre when the tree came crashing on them.
The injured were admitted to KMC hospital and are said to be out of danger.
It is believed that the recent rains might have weakened the roots of the tree which caused it to fall. Forest officials said that the tree was 40 years old.
