Mangaluru: Love for nature has been exemplified after a tree near a turn on the Ladyhill road has been relocated along with its roots. This tree which belongs to the peltophorum genus , which was located near the turn from Ladyhill towards Chilimbi was causing hindrance to vehicular movement due to which Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) had decided to chop it down.

But this decision by MCC was opposed by the localities and National Environment Care Federation (NECF) and in this backdrop; MCC dropped its plan to chop down the tree and instead decided to relocate the tree to another location with its roots intact.

On Monday, MCC staff conducted the operation and relocated the tree with the help of a crane, to an empty space located nearby.
