Trekking to Ettina Bhuja temporarily banned

Chikkamagaluru: Administration has imposed a temporary ban on trekking to Ettina Bhuja, a famous natural site in Mudigere taluk. The decision comes as the region experiences heavy rainfall and increased risks of landslides.

An official announcement was issued by the Mudigere Sub-divisional Forest office, stating that the ban will be in effect until further orders. The decision was prompted by the ongoing heavy rains in the Mudigere zone, which may result in landslides and pose several hazards to trekking enthusiasts.

According to Mohan Kumar, a forest official, the current weather conditions have increased the likelihood of landslides, making it unsafe for trekkers to venture into the area. There are also concerns about the potential for electric poles and trees on the road to fall and obstruct traffic, posing further risks to those visiting the region.

In case of accidents or emergencies, reaching the scene immediately could be challenging due to the unpredictable nature of the weather conditions.
