Belagavi: Two and half years ago a man was condemned to life detainment in a triple murder case that had stunned the whole state.

On April 16, the Second Additional District and Sessions court, discovered Pravin Bhat guilty for murder and condemned him to life detainment. It additionally slapped a fine of Rs 10,000.

Pravin Bhat, who was living in a rented room in Kuvempu Nagar to pursue his CA studies, had ruthlessly murdered a woman and her two children fearing that his affair  would block his profession aspirations.

As per the chargesheet, Bhat had eloped with the neighbour Rina Malagatti (32). He needed to end his relationship, yet Rina, who was not ready for the separation threatened Bhat that she would disclose their relationship. Fearing that his career would end if the news spread, Bhat killed Rina and her children Aditya (11) and Sahitya (3) the evening of 16 August 2015.
