Bengaluru: Actor Yuva Rajkumar has filed for a divorce from his wife Sridevi citing mental and physical abuse. The case is scheduled for a hearing in the family court on July 4.
Yuva Rajkumar, grandson of Late Dr. Rajkumar and Sridevi were in a relationship for seven years before getting married in 2019. Notably, this is the first divorce case reported in the Dr Rajkumar family.
Speaking to mediapersons, Sridevi, who is in the United States for higher studies informed that she has not yet received the notice. “Once I receive a copy of the notice, I will respond to it. Presently, I am not in a position to speak on the matter,” Sridevi said.
Meanwhile, Sridevi shared a cryptic post on social media.
“It is very unfortunate and hurtful to see a person who is supposed to maintain professional decorum is yielding into character assassinating a woman in public with no truth in it.
“I am deeply disappointed with how this has been handled especially given the false narrative. I completely remained silent and maintained my dignity inspite of all that I went through the last few months. But they did this.
“I continue to trust that truth and justice will prevail,” her post read.
