Mangaluru: Minister for women and child development Jayamala during her visit to the district assured to pay additional Rs 10 lac for the development of academies in the district.
Speaking to the press persons here, she said, “Rs. 1 crore was been provided for the academics. From this year on, an additional amount of Rs.10 lakh will be provided.
“There is a need to encourage collection of antiques and articrafts related to Tulu language and culture. Tulu Academy should take responsibility of it and encourage private organizations, which collect these antiques,” she added.
She further said, “The coalition government has given me opportunity and I thank all the senior leaders. I have deep concern towards women and children and am eager to do good work for my department and bring positive changes.”
“We lack funds for the construction of separate building for Beary and Konkani Academies. I will definitely work to make the dream a reality,” she assured.
Former minister Ramanath Rai, Ex MLA Abhayachandra Jain, district Congress president Harish Kumar and others were present.
