Tulu movie ‘Jeetige’ bags National Film Award

Tulu feature film “Jeetige” won the best regional film award at the 68th National Film Awards announced on Friday.
The movie is based around the life of a Daivaradhane Paathri (Spirit worshipper) in midst of the Covid pandemic. It showcases the rich cultural heritage of Tulunadu, and its tradition of spirit worship.
With this Jeetige became the only 7th Tulu cinema to receive the national award. Before this, “Bangar Patleàr”, “Koti Chennaya”, “Gaggara”, “Madipu”, “Paddai”, and “Pingara” had won the national honor.
Jeetige is the directorial debut of Santhosh Mada, and features Naveen D. Padil in lead role. The yet-to-released movie is produced by produced by Arun Rai Thodar.
