Tumkur: Three, including child die after drinking contaminated water

Three persons, including a child died after drinking contaminated water during an ongoing fair at Chinnenahalli village.

Peddanna (72) and Chikkadasappa (76) were admitted to Tumkur District Hospital where they died last night without responding to the treatment.

Meenakshi, aged 3 had been admitted to Madhugiri Hospital after she began vomiting. Notably, Meenakshi was discharged from the hospital after showing signs of recovery. But she fell ill again and was being taken to the hospital when she died en route.

Reportedly several people fell ill after consuming contaminated water at the fair. The affected individuals were admitted to Madhugiri Taluk Hospital, Tumkur District Hospital, and hospitals in Bengaluru for treatment.

Local MLA and Cooperative Minister K.N. Rajanna visited the district hospital to inquire about the well-being of the patients receiving treatment. Despite medical efforts, the deaths have caused considerable concern.
