Tumkur varsity’s first Vice Chancellor Dr O Anantharamayya passes away

Tumkur: Tumkur University’s first Vice-Chancellor Dr. O. Anantharamayya passed away at a private hospital in Bengaluru at the age of 77.

Born on May 10, 1946, in Koratagere town, Prof O. Anantharamaiah obtained a master’s degree and served as a lecturer and head of the faculty at Bangalore and Mysore universities for many years. He then went on to become the first vice-chancellor of Tumkur University.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son. The funeral was held in Koratagere town.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Dr. G. Parameshwara has condoled the death of Dr. O. Anantharamaiah. Pying rich tributes, Dr Parameshwara said “I am sad that I did not get to see him for on elast time due to urgent work. I pray that god gives his family the strength to bear his loss.”
