TV actress among 5 dead in road accident

Chitradurga: Five people from Bengaluru, including a television actress, died after the vehicle they were travelling in hit a truck on National Highway 4 at Kunchiganalu village on the outskirts of Chitradurga on Wednesday.

The deceased are car driver Ashok (35), Shyamala (64), Shobha (45), and Sukanya (67), Manjula (45).

The injured Pavitra, 30, Shreshtha, 7, and Arthat, 2, are undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Chitradurga.

The tragedy struck when the residents of Rajarajeshwari Nagar were on their way to a temple in Badami.

Car driver’s negligence caused the accident, informed police sources.
