Twitter handle of I&B Ministry compromised

New Delhi: The official Twitter handle of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was reportedly compromised for a brief period of time on Wednesday morning.
The Ministry later put out a tweet saying, “The account @Mib_india has been restored. This is for the information of all the followers.”

Last year Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter handle was briefly hacked, and a tweet claiming that India has “officially adopted cryptocurrency as legal tender” was posted.
The Prime Minister’s Office later said the account was immediately secured after the matter was escalated to Twitter.
