Twitteratis calls for boycott of ‘Chhapaak’ after Deepika’s JNU visit

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone who was here in the city on Tuesday for the promotion of her upcoming movie ‘Chhapak’, reached Jawaharlal Nehru University to express her support for the victims of JNU Violence that shook the country on Sunday, January 5.
The actor met President of JNUSU Aishe Ghosh who was injured in the violence and also spotted standing with the students at the University.
Her photos in the university went viral on Social media and soon Twitteratis alleged that she visited the campus for her film proportion and to gain publicity. They have also asked viewers to boycott her upcoming film Chhapak. #BoycottChhapak is trending on twitter.

On the other hand, Bollywood applauded her stand to protest with the victims. Anurag Kashyap, Dia Mirza, Anubhav Sinha and Richa Chadda supported her move. She was praised for taking a bold move of visiting the university keeping in mind the release of her movie on January 10.
Hashtags like #IStandWithDeepika #ChhapakDekhoTapaakSe are also floating in India in support of Deepika Padukone.
