Mangaluru: Cybercrime police personnel arrested two youths, accused of posing as police officers and demanding money from a man by threatening to post his obscene photos on social media.

The arrested accused have been identified as Gokulraju (20) and Pavan L (20), both residents of Bengaluru.

It is gathered that the duo had created a fake Facebook account in the name of a woman named Sakshiraj and befriended the victim Rajesh, a resident of KPT in the city.

The accused then got a woman to call Rajesh and sent obscene and nude photos to the complainant in the beginning. Later they asked him to send his nude photos. After getting the nude photos from him, they demanded money and threatened to post his photos on social media if he failed to pay the amount they demanded.

Apart from this, they had also posed over phone calls as senior police officers.

The arrested have been remanded to judicial custody.
