Two arrested for drilling hole in HPCL pipeline, stealing petrol

Mangaluru: Police arrested two persons accused in two cases registered at Bajpe police station, concerning the theft of petroleum products by drilling hole into the HPCL pipeline between the city and Bengaluru and siphoning off the petroleum products.

The arrested are identified as Armugam (39) from Marakada Ramanagara here and Ramesh (35) from Basavanagara, Marakada and were nabbed by the cops near Vamanjoor check post here on Monday night, August 26. The accused were produced in the court on Tuesday remanded to 15 days judicial custody.

During interrogation, both reportedly confessed that they had joined hands with their accomplices, drilled hole in the pipeline, and tried to steal petrol and the pipes used by them for the thefts have been  seized.
