Two earthquakes jolt Vijayapura in 6 hours

Vijayapura: Two earthquakes of magnitude 2.8 on the Richter scale hit the Vijayapura district within a span of 6 hours.
On Friday, October 28, at 9.47 pm, the tremors were felt in the Managuli area of Basavan Bagewadi taluk. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground.
The second earthquake occurred in the wee hours of Saturday in Hanchanala village. The magnitude of the quake was 2.8 on the Richter scale. The depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported.
