Two from Mysuru drown at Panambur beach

Mangaluru: Two men from Mysuru drowned at the Panambur beach here on the morning of Monday, May 30.

The deceased have been identified as Diwakar Aradya (40) and Ningappa (65), both residents of Jayanagar in Mysuru.

Diwakar Aradya ran a business named Aradya Food and Beverages in Mysuru. He along with 3 workers at the factory had arrived in Mangaluru on May 27 to participate in the Halasina Mela (Jackfruit Mela) that was held in the city.

On May 30, they had been to Panambur beach to relax and unwind. However, at around 7.30 AM Diwakar and Ningappa were swept away by a wave while they were swimming and drowned.

Their lifeless bodies were later fished out, police said.

A complaint has been registered at the Panambur Police station in this regard.
