Two held for smuggling Sandalwood

Sullia: Two persons were arrested by Dakshina Kannada district police after they were found to be smuggling sandalwood, weighing 31 kg in a car at Jalsoor, Sullia here.
The arrested have been identified as Ashraf and Unais, both residents of Kodagu have been booked under Indian Penal Code Section 379 and Karnataka Forest Act.
The police found the sandalwood in their car during the routine checking here on Monday and seized a car and the sandalwood
The accused revealed that they had purchased the sandalwood from Krishna Kutty, and were going to sell it in Mangaluru.
Sullia police registered a case.
